In the 2020/21 crop year, the company produced 14,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil in Provence from a blend of olives using traditional methods. Moulin à Huile du Partégal earned the Silver Award for its Cuve Magi, a delicate blend.
"We are very happy because this competition rewards our work and highlights our know-how," owner Guillaume Kauffmann said.
"Our main challenge was the yield, which was very low," he added. "Waiting to harvest certainly made it go up, but we were also losing aromas."
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
