Italian producer C.U.FR.OL. has won two Silver Awards at the 2021 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
We are thrilled to have received such awards. They are an incentive to continue in our pursuit of excellence, and better ourselves.
Dominique Coombes, business development manager
The company produces extra virgin olive oil in Umbria from Leccino, Moraiolo and Frantoio olives using traditional methods. C.U.FR.OL. earned the Silver Awards for two medium blend: Gradassi Lo Storico and Terre Francescane L'Italiano.
"We are thrilled to have received such awards," Dominique Coombes, the company's business development manager, said. "They are an incentive to continue in our pursuit of excellence, and better ourselves."
The awards are especially gratifying for the producer after bad weather throughout the region dramatically lowered the expected yield.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
