Viña Morande Wins Second Straight NYIOOC Award
Chilean producer Viña Morande has won a Silver Award at the 2022 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
The Casablanca Valley-based producer earned a second-straight NYIOOC accolade for its medium Izaro Premium Blend.
Carolina Terc, the company's marketing manager, said she was "very happy" about the award. She added that the award is even more gratifying after facing a "challenging season" due to the "scarcity of water."
In 2021, Terc previously attributed the company's success to years of hard work and teamwork.
"This is the result of many years of work, giving our best efforts to be able to bring the best quality olive oil to people's tables around the world," she said in 2021.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
