Gaea Awarded for Outstanding Olympia
Gaea Products, from Greece, has won a Silver Award for Gaea Fresh, a medium-intensity Olympia, at the 2020 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition.
We worked hard, with passion, very closely with the farmers and our team in order to have this exceptional olive oil with superior characteristics.
Thomas Brinkmann, CEO
"We are proud and excited to receive this award for our Gaea Fresh extra virgin olive oil," CEO Thomas Brinkmann said. "We are very enthusiastic that Greek extra virgin olive oil is getting recognized for its superior quality."
"We worked hard, with passion, very closely with the farmers and our team in order to have this exceptional olive oil with superior characteristics," he added.
In the 2019/20 season, Brinkmann said the Gaea produced 80 tons of extra virgin olive using traditional methods.
Overall, 2019 had been a very good year for Gaea, he added, and the producer had worked hard to meet the highest quality standards.
"The quantity produced was great for Greece in regards to the 2019 harvest," he said. "The issue pertained to higher acidity levels than expected."
"We worked with our team to manage a desired acidity level for our Gaea Fresh extra virgin olive oil," Brinkmann added. "This will help maintain the freshness throughout the shelf life of 30 months."
