Cobram Estate Wins 7 Awards at World Competition

5 years agoBy OOT Staff

Cobram Estate has won seven awards at the 2020 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, continuing the Australian company's impressive winning streak at the annual contest.

Cobram Estate is honored to have again been selected as a Gold Award winner at the prestigious NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition. There is an incalculable effort put in by our team that helped make this harvest such a success and we are looking forward to what the 2020 harvest has in store.

Paul Riordan, co-owner

The company, which produces and distributes extra virgin olive oil from California and Victoria, Australia, won Gold Awards for Cobram Estate California Select and Cobram Estate Australia Select – two medium-intensity blends – and its Boundary Bend brand, a medium Manzanilla.

The producer also earned Silver Awards for its 100% California Classic and 100% California Robust – two medium blends – 100% California Mild, a delicate blend, and Boundary Bend Picual, a medium-intensity Picual.

"Cobram Estate is honored to have again been selected as a Gold Award winner at the prestigious NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition," co-owner Paul Riordan said. "There is an incalculable effort put in by our team that helped make this harvest such a success and we are looking forward to what the 2020 harvest has in store."

Riordan added that the 2019 harvest had been a race against time as his team managed to finish just before bouts of bad weather set in.

"We were lucky in that we finished out harvest mere hours before the rain came in November, and we could not be more grateful to our team who pushed to get everything harvested and crushed before the clouds rolled in," he said.

The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest and its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
