Fratelli Colletti Notches 6th Win at World Competition
Italian producer Fratelli Colletti has won a Silver Award at the 2021 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
This is our sixth win in New York since our Silver Award in 2013 and we are elated. Of course, we love our oil as do our followers, but having these wins certainly helps grab the attention of new customers.

In the 2020/21 crop year, the company produced 3,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil in Sicily using traditional methods. Fratelli Colletti earned the Silver Award for its medium Biancolilla.
"This is our sixth win in New York since our Silver Award in 2013 and we are elated," co-owner George Colletti said. "Of course, we love our oil as do our followers, but having these wins certainly helps grab the attention of new customers."
Despite the challenges created by the Covid-19 pandemic, Colletti said that his company enjoyed a fairly normal harvest by Sicilian standards.
"After dealing with travel restrictions and the quarantine, we had what I would consider a typical harvest," Colletti said. "Being a small producer of early harvest oil, we finished prior to the second lockdown. In our region, there was a scarcity of fruit but not as serious as we have seen in prior years."
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
