Fontanaro Organic Farmhouse has won its eighth-consecutive award at the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition.

We have participated in the NYIOOC for eight years in a row. We are very happy to win a Gold Award again in 2023. Passion, effort and a strong team always pay.

Lucia Verdacchi, owner

The Umbrian producer earned a Gold Award for its Olio Fonte della Pace organic medium blend. Fontanaro has won nine NYIOOC awards since 2014.

"We have participated in the NYIOOC for eight years in a row," owner Lucia Verdacchi said. "We are very happy to win a Gold Award again in 2023. Passion, effort and a strong team always pay."

In the 2022/23 crop year, Fontanaro used traditional methods to produce 4,000 liters of organic extra virgin olive oil.

"Like every year, we collect our organic olives in the traditional way and process them in our latest generation mill within six hours to achieve the best possible quality," Verdacchi said.

Held each spring in New York, the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
