Domenica Fiore Wins 3 Gold Awards in World Competition

Italian producer Domenica Fiore has won three Gold Awards at the 2021 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.

In the 2020/21 crop year, the company produced 14,000 liters of organic extra virgin olive oil in Umbria from a blend of olives using traditional harvesting methods. Domenica Fiore earned the Gold Awards for three organic medium blends: Novello di Notte, Olio Reserva and Olio Novello.

"I'm very proud of the result obtained at the NYIOOC and also proud of the work done by our team that allows us to confirm the constant quality of our products every year," marketing manager Amanda Kenny said.

For the Umbrian producer, the awards are even more gratifying after turbulent weather conditions throughout 2020 made the harvest even more challenging than normal.

"2020 was a difficult harvest especially due to the variable weather – some very hot and some cold days – but we were able to alternate regular daytime and some nighttime harvests to perfectly balance the temperature during the extraction process," Kenny said. "We came out very well with an excellent product."
