Frantoio Cannone Awarded for Coratina at NYIOOC
Italian producer Frantoio Cannone has won its first-ever Silver Award at the 2021 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
We are very proud to have reached this first important milestone. This award makes us understand how important it is to work well and on quality and pushes us to do our best to achieve maximum perfection.

In the 2020/21 crop year, the company produced 4,000 tons of extra virgin olive oil in Puglia using traditional methods. Frantoio Cannone earned the Silver Award for its medium Coratina.
"We are very proud to have reached this first important milestone," Francesco Saverio Cannone, the company's CEO, said. "This award makes us understand how important it is to work well and on quality and pushes us to do our best to achieve maximum perfection."
Despite a poor harvest in Puglia, Saverio Cannone said the company was able to persevere and managed to produce an award-winning olive oil.
"In the 2020/21 campaign in Puglia, olive production was much lower than the previous one," he said. "Precisely for this reason it was difficult to find a healthy and clean product. Despite this, we still managed to produce an exceptional extra virgin olive oil."
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
