Domaine de Gerbaud Win 2nd Gold for Grande Cuvée
French producer Domaine de Gerbaud has won a Gold Award at the 2021 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
We are elated at winning a Gold Award for the second year running. We are so, very happy to receive this medal, with great appreciation and gratitude toward our team. Hopefully, the last few hundred liters of Grande Cuvée Gerbaud extra virgin olive oil will fly off the shelves.

The company produces extra virgin olive oil in Aix-en-Provence from Aglandau, Salonenque and Grossane olives using traditional methods. Domaine de Gerbaud earned the Gold Award for its Grande Cuvée Gerbaud, a medium blend.
"We are elated at winning a Gold Award for the second year running. We are so, very happy to receive this medal, with great appreciation and gratitude toward our team," co-owner Louisa Sherman said. "Hopefully, the last few hundred liters of Grande Cuvée Gerbaud extra virgin olive oil will fly off the shelves."
Despite their success, the 2020/21 crop year was marked by significant challenges caused by unseasonably bad weather.
"The 2020/21 harvest was our smallest ever," Sherman said. "But, the aromas were good, so we persisted with our traditional harvesting even though it was uneconomical. We produced an excellent olive oil despite adverse climatic conditions."
