Cultura Wins Gold at World Competition
Greek producer Cultura Olive Oil has won a Gold Award at the 2021 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
We’re proud that for a second consecutive year we managed to produce an extra virgin olive oil worthy of a Gold Award. This is the highlight of a year-long effort.

The company produces organic extra virgin olive oil using traditional methods. Cultura Olive Oil earned the Gold Award for its organic delicate Olympia monovarietal.
"We’re proud that for a second consecutive year we managed to produce an extra virgin olive oil worthy of a Gold Award," owner Labrini Tsitsou said. "This is the highlight of a year-long effort."
"What matters to us is staying true to our values of respecting nature and acting with integrity, and this award stands as a validation for our customers and encourages us to keep going," she added.
For the producers behind Cultura Olive Oil, this year's award is especially gratifying after all the challenges faced by the company in the 2020/21 crop year.
"The road to producing an organic, healthful, high-quality olive oil is full of challenges," Tsitsou said. "However, this year not only did we face some rather unfavorable weather conditions, such as heatwaves and droughts, we also had to overcome the constraints imposed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It has been a very unpredictable year."
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
