Azienda Agricola Parisi Donato received a Gold Award at the 2020 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition.

The company struggled with drought conditions during the 2019/2020 season, owner Enrico Parisi noted when learning of the win today.
"This year was very difficult for the drought period during summer and in October we have been obligated to start with the harvest although the high temperature. We respected the short time interval between harvest and milling and we'are working to reach better result producing an olive oil with special aroma and rich of polyphenols," Parisi said.
The winning oil was 1879 Extra Blend, a medium-intensity extra virgin olive oil produced in Calabria, Italy, from Nocellara, Dolce di Rossano and Tondina olives using traditional harvesting methods.

The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest and its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
