Uljara Božić Extends Winning Streak at World Competition

2 years agoBy OOT Staff

Croatian producer Uljara Božić has won a Silver Award at the 2022 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.

Situated in southern Dalmatia, the producer earned the Silver Award for its Bozic Uje brand, a medium Oblica. The oil previously earned a Silver Award in 2017 and Gold Awards in 2018, 2020 and 2021.

In 2021, the company also earned the Silver Award for its Selekcija Božić brand, a medium blend.

"These awards mean that our Oblica is one of the best olive oils in the world," owner Božidar Balić told Olive Oil Times in 2021. "This gives us the strength to work harder and learn more and tells us that we are doing good work in the olive groves."

"It is valuable recognition for us that our effort, knowledge and constant improvements are recognized around the world," he added.

The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
