Situated in Kalamata, on the southern Peloponnese peninsula, the company earned a Gold Award for its Premium brand, a medium Koroneiki.
"We feel perfect," owner Katerina Bougatsou said. "Winning at the NYIOOC is one of the most useful awards in the world. It is an honor to win the Gold Award in this competition."
In the 2022/23 crop year, Stalia produced between 5 and 10 tons of extra virgin olive oil. Still, Bougatsou cited climate, olive fly infestations and other diseases as the main challenges she faced in producing her award-winning brand.
