The Andalusian company earned a Gold Award for its XY brand, a medium Picuda, which previously earned Gold Awards in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
"Winning at NYIOOC is relating," owner María Luisa Povedano Gámiz said. "We are honored for our team's hard work. The award validates our commitment to quality, boosts our reputation and opens new opportunities. We are grateful and proud."
She added that X37 Grados Norte, located in the province of Córdoba on the 37th parallel, faced plenty of challenges during the 2022/23 crop year to produce its award-winning extra virgin olive oil.
"The journey to produce our award-winning olive oil was not without its challenges," Podedano said. "Like many other producers in various regions, we faced our share of difficulties during the harvest."
"Unpredictable weather patterns, including unseasonal rain and frost, presented challenges for optimal fruit maturation," she added.
Held each spring in New York, the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
