SOPG Demo from Croatia has won an award at the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's largest olive oil quality contest.
It is great to see that our dedication and persistence brought us to such recognition, even as a small producer. The whole family is celebrating the achievement.

The Dalmatian producer earned a Gold Award in its NYIOOC debut for its Brig brand, an organic medium-intensity blend.
"This is our first Gold Award at the NYIOOC, which motivates us to continue following our dream of producing one of the world’s best organic olive oils," owner Dusan Demo said.
"It is great to see that our dedication and persistence brought us to such recognition, even as a small producer," he added. "The whole family is celebrating the achievement."
In the 2022/23 crop year, the company used traditional methods to produce 800 liters of extra virgin olive oil.
"2022 was indeed a challenging and demanding year with a long drought period, which forced us to use manual watering of the trees every few weeks during the year," Demo said. "Fortunately, this effort paid off at harvest when we gained 800 liters of the best organic extra virgin olive oil from 460 trees."
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition held each spring in New York, is the world's most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
