Fourth-Straight Gold for OPG Rheos at 2023 NYIOOC
OPG Rheos from Croatia has won an award at the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's largest olive oil quality contest.
This is the fourth year in a row that we have won a Gold Award at the NYIOOC, so we are very proud and happy. Our main goal is to confirm our premium quality from year to year.

The Istrian producer earned a Gold Award for its medium-intensity Rheos Premium Blend brand, comprising Frantoio, Leccino, Pendolino, Istria Buza and Istrian Bjelica olives.
"This is the fourth year in a row that we have won a Gold Award at the NYIOOC, so we are very proud and happy," owner Andrea Brečević said. "Our main goal is to confirm our premium quality from year to year."
In the 2022/23 crop year, the company used traditional methods to produce 5,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil.
"To achieve premium quality every year, there are many different challenges, but we would like to point out the long drought in Istria as the most challenging from last year," Brečević said.
Held each spring in New York, the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
