Skoutari Awarded at Third-Straight World Competition
Skoutari from Greece has won a third-consecutive award at the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition.
Our distinction in such a demanding competition is an amazing reward for the great effort that we put in to achieve this result and, at the same time, is a commitment to keep trying for the best.

Located on the island of Crete, the producer earned its third Gold Award for an organic medium Koroneki. Owner Maria Sgourou said she was happy to win the award but was also very anxious while waiting for the announcement.
"Our distinction in such a demanding competition is an amazing reward for the great effort that we put in to achieve this result and, at the same time, is a commitment to keep trying for the best," she said.
In the 2022/23 crop year, Skotouri produced 4,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil using traditional methods. "Beyond the economic and labor crisis, our biggest challenge was and still is the climate change, the consequences of which we are acutely aware," Sgourou said.
Held each spring in New York, the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
