Agraria Riva del Garda Adds 7th Gold to NYIOOC Collection
The northern Italian producer Agraria Riva del Garda has won its seventh Gold Award at the 2022 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
We are very happy and honoured to have received this award. This motivates us even more to pursue the path of quality in the years to come.
Giorgio Planchenstainer, CEO
Based in Trentino-Alto Adige, northwestern Italy, the company produced 18 tons of organic extra virgin olive oil in the 2021/22 crop year using traditional methods.
"We are very happy and honored to have received this award," said Giorgio Planchenstainer, the company's chief executive. "This motivates us, even more, to pursue the path of quality in the years to come."
The company earned the Gold Award for its 46° Parallelo Biologico brand, an organic robust blend. 46° Parallelo Biologico previously earned a Gold Award in 2020. The company's Uliva brand has also earned one Silver Award and five Gold Awards in the past decade.
Planchenstainer said that his team once again achieved a high-qaulity oil, despite a lower quantity of olives than previously hoped.
"Despite the fact that the 2021 olive season was poorer than in previous years, the product we managed to obtain was of high quality," he said.
46° Parallelo Biologico will now be added to the Official Guide to the World's Best Olive Oils, an annual listing of award winners that is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
