Spanish producer Almazara Quaryat Dillar was again awarded at the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition.
Receiving this prestigious award fills us with pride and helps us to continue improving our search for excellence in everything we do.

The Andalusian company earned a Gold Award for a medium Picual, which previously earned Gold Awards in 2016 and 2017. The company was previously awarded at the NYIOOC for separate brands in 2016, 2017 and 2022.
"Receiving this prestigious award fills us with pride and helps us to continue improving our search for excellence in everything we do," co-owner Antonio Velasco said.
"It is a huge help when it comes to getting new customers since we can ensure the quality of our extra virgin olive oil from a limited harvest and our own production," he added.
While production was affected by the ongoing drought, Velasco said producing olive oil at higher elevations meant his groves suffered less from the summer's high temperatures.
"This year, in our family olive grove in the Sierra Nevada Natural Park in Granada, we have obtained quality extra virgin olive oil during the harvest, but production has been affected by the drought we are suffering in Andalusia," he said.
"Being a high-altitude olive grove, the climatic conditions have been more favorable than in other regions," Velasco added.
Held each spring in New York, the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
The complete list of winners can be viewed in the Official Guide to the World's Best Olive Oils.
