An ‘Empowering’ Win for Turkish Brand Purio
Turkish company Purio has taken an NYIOOC Gold Award in the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest for its monovarietal.
This competition is an empowering acknowledgment of what can be done with our region’s olives and we want to inspire others to create their own stories.
Özlem Konukoğlu said about the award
The company produces extra virgin olive oil from Trilye olives using traditional harvesting methods.
Weather conditions were favorable and the harvest was timed correctly, owner Özlem Konukoğlu said.
"We were lucky since we didn't face many challenges as an advantage of our region this year. Our olive field is in a privileged position in terms of wind and angle of the sun in order to obtain consistent quality," Konukoğlu said
"We had a chance to harvest at the right time by combining experiences of both the local people and the olive oil experts on our team," he added.
Purio won a Gold Award for its medium Trilye, produced by KOG Gida A.S. in Turkey.
"The journey we’ve started to share a quality olive oil with the loved ones just got a new turning point with the gold medal and definitely will work as a driving force for us to take things further. This competition is an empowering acknowledgment of what can be done with our region’s olives and we want to inspire others to create their own stories," Konukoğlu said.
