The company produces extra virgin olive oil in Galano Metaggitsiou Chalkidikis (Greece) from Galani of Chalkidiki olives using traditional methods.
George Pananos, the owner of Pillar Grove Estate, noted how directly the climate can affect the timing during the critical harvest period.
"The harvest was delayed by 10 days due to severe rainfall in early October 2021 which prevented us from entering the farm, he told Olive Oil Times.
Pillar Grove Estate won a Silver Award for its Daphnis and Chloe Selection, a medium Galani of Chalkidiki produced in Galano Metaggitsiou Chalkidikis, Greece. It was the third consecutive award-winning year for the brand.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest and its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
