Antikleia Awarded at World Olive Oil Competition
Antikleia has won two Silver Awards at the 2021 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
We are overwhelmed to receive this award for both olive oils from Mavroudis-Antikleia in our second year after the start of the Thracs brand. The hard work of Uncle Stavros and Cousin Makis has paid off and is now being rewarded.

The German-based company produced 10 tons of extra virgin olive oil in Maroneia, Greece, during the 2020/21 crop year using traditional methods. Antikleia earned the two Silver Awards for its Efthimios Mavroudis Thracs and Thracs Early Harvest brands, both of which are medium Makris.
"We are overwhelmed to receive this award for both olive oils from Mavroudis-Antikleia in our second year after the start of the Thracs brand," owner Ioanna Braun said. "The hard work of Uncle Stavros and Cousin Makis has paid off and is now being rewarded."
She added that the company had enjoyed a good year with only the usual challenges associated with harvesting on mountainous terrain.
"The only difficult thing was harvesting the Agoureleo in the mountains of Maroneia, as this area is difficult to access and every year requires a lot of work for a small amount of olive oil," Braun said. "But that is exactly what makes our Thracs Agoureleo so special."
