Paragaea from Greece has earned a Gold Award at the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
After making improvements in every step of the olive oil production process, starting from the olive tree until bottling, we can finally enjoy the fruits of our labor.

The Preveza-based company earned its first Gold Award for its Aegis Gourmet brand, a medium Lianolia Pargas. Aegis Gourmet previously won a Silver Award in 2021.
"The Gold Award gives us great satisfaction and joy," owner Ilias Liakris said. "We have been working relentlessly over the last years to achieve this goal."
"After making improvements in every step of the olive oil production process, starting from the olive tree until bottling, we can finally enjoy the fruits of our labor," he added.
Situated in the western reaches of the Greek mainland, the producers behind Paragaea had to overcome hot and dry weather in 2022 to achieve their award-winning results.
"The biggest challenge we faced this harvest was the dry and warm weather during the whole year, especially during spring and summer," Liakris confirmed.
Held each spring in New York, the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's largest olive oil quality contest. The annual list of award winners is the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
