Italian producer Clivio degli Ulivi has triumphed for the first time at the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition.
Achieving such a result makes us overjoyed and repays all the effort we have made to keep the quality high.

The small-scale producer earned a Gold Award for its Le Radici IGP Toscano brand, a medium blend of Frantoio, Leccino and Pendolino olives.
"Achieving such a result makes us overjoyed and repays all the effort we have made to keep the quality high," owner Laura Maria Veretis said.
Located in Capalbio, Tuscany, the company harvests its olives by hand from 2,500 trees spread across 12 hectares.
To achieve its success, Maria Berti said the company had to overcome extreme weather events and drought that plagued Italy throughout 2022.
"We had a very complex crop year, especially due to the high temperatures and drought in the warmer months," she said.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is held each spring. It is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
