"Winning a Gold Award at the NYIOOC has been a long-time dream for us," owner Ana Makjanić said. "For many years, we wanted to participate and finally, this year, we took the plunge and, here it is, a Gold Award for our Levantinka."
"We are looking forward to next year, when we plan to compete with olive oil from our local cultivar, Pujiška, from the island of Hvar," she added.
The company's first Gold Award at the NYIOOC serves as the perfect ending to what Makjanić described as an excellent harvest.
"We had a fantastic harvest," she said. "The weather was great. The fruits were perfect and the olive oil has never been better for us."
