Mario Paunovic, co-owner
In the 2020/21 crop year, the company produces 1,150 liters of organic extra virgin olive oil in Istria from Leccino, Oblica, Buza, Bjelica, Pendolino and Istria Buza olives using traditional methods.
Firmas earned the Gold Awards for its Valencano brand, an organic medium blend, and its Valencano BP, an organic medium Istria Buza.
"I feel fulfilled and satisfied with the awards," co-owner Mario Paunovic said. "Multiple years of work and care have been awarded."
The producer behind the Valencano brand added that the awards were especially significant after poor climatic conditions complicated the harvest in 2020.
"The weather was not very nice," Paunovic said. "It was raining multiple days so the harvest was prolonged."
