OPG Đani Lazar Wins with Oblica Monocultivar at NYIOOC
Croatian producer OPG Đani Lazar has won a Silver Award at the 2021 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.

In the 2020/21 crop year, the company produced 200 liters of organic extra virgin olive oil in Šibenik-Knin County from Oblica olives using traditional harvesting methods. OPG Đani Lazar earned the Silver Award for its Orcolo brand, an organic medium Oblica.
"This award means a lot to my family and me," co-owner Karlo Lazar said. "We want to keep producing olive oil in the traditional way and make it as well as possible.
He added that the 2020 harvest was particularly challenging as a result of the financial difficulties imposed on producers by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. The annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
