Cantasole Wins Again at World Olive Oil Competition

3 years agoBy OOT Staff

Italian producer Cantasole has won a Gold and Silver award at the 2021 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.

We are so grateful and blessed to have won two awards this year. Our blend received its fifth award, which symbolizes consistency in our love for producing high-quality extra virgin olive oil. Our Coratina received its second Gold Award.

Arianna De Marco, CEO

In the 2020/21 crop year, the company produced 9,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil in Puglia from Coratina and Cima di Melfi olives using traditional methods.

Cantasole won the Gold Award for its robust Coratina and earned the Silver Award for a medium blend. Overall, the company has earned eight awards at the competition.

"We are so grateful and blessed to have won two awards this year," Arianna De Marco, the company's CEO, said. "Our blend received its fifth award, which symbolizes consistency in our love for producing high-quality extra virgin olive oil. Our Coratina received its second Gold Award."

"Thanks to love, passion, hard work and innovation, we live our dream that excellent extra virgin olive oil brings people together and improves their quality of life," she added.

Cantasole's success comes after an uncertain year in which the Covid-19 pandemic complicated De Marco's entire business.

"Covid-19 brought uncertainty and insecurity during the days of harvest in October 2020," she said. "We faced this challenge by informing and educating our collaborators, taking care of their health at work and at home, giving out masks and ensuring social distancing."

"Thankfully, the love for olives brought us together and allowed for a healthy harvest," De Marco added.
