Montetucci Awarded for Picual at World Competition
Spanish producer Montetucci has won a Gold Award at the 2022 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.

Using traditional methods, the company produces early harvest extra virgin olive oil in Jaén, Andalusia, the world's largest olive oil-producing region by a significant margin. Montetucci earned the Gold Award for its Premium brand, a medium Picual with tasting sensations of tomato and grass.
"[Winning at the NYIOOC] is a challenge that makes our product improve year after year and a showcase for our future partners who commit to a quality product," said Ismael Oyarzun, the company's chief executive.
"Our main challenge is to improve what we do year after year until we reach excellence," he added.
Montetucci Premium has been added to the Official Guide to the World's Best Olive Oils. The annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
