Based in Basilicata, Umbria, Monini earned the awards for its GranFruttato brand, a medium-intensity blend and three organic medium monovarietals: Frantoio, Coratina and Nocellara.
"Winning prizes from a competent jury is always very rewarding; it shows that we are working well," owner Zefferino Monini said.
Since 2018, the company has earned 15 awards at the world's largest olive oil quality competition. However, Monini said this year's are especially gratifying as the company navigates an inflationary environment paired with high olive oil prices at origin due to poor harvests across the olive oil world.
"It is a tough time; we are facing a shortage of products and an increase in prices, but we are passionate and work only on quality," Monini said.
