Monini Wins 3 Awards for Organic Monovarietals
Italian producer Monini has won three Gold Awards at the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's largest olive oil quality contest.
We are very satisfied because even in such a difficult year, we managed to bring out excellent quality, which allows us to be recognized among those who have done a really good job.

The Umbria-based company earned awards for an organic medium Frantoio, an organic medium Coratina and an organic medium Nocellara.
"We are very satisfied because even in such a difficult year, we managed to bring out excellent quality, which allows us to be recognized among those who have done a really good job," marketing manager Maria Sole Monini said.
With 11 awards since 2018, Monini has become a perennial winner at the NYIOOC, including in 2021, when the company earned five Gold Awards.
Despite Monini's sustained success at the World Competition, the producer said this season was particularly challenging in their efforts to produce organic extra virgin olive oil.
"Given the strong heat of the season, for us, the greatest challenge has been that of determining the right moment to harvest each one of the varieties, to have the most satisfactory result in organoleptic terms," Monini said.
Held each spring in New York, the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
