Pillar Grove Estate Weathers Storm to Strike Gold
A strong storm that blew through the groves supplying olives for Pillar Grove Estate olive oil couldn't stop the company's award-winning Daphnis and Chloe Selection at the 2020 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition.
I feel honored and challenged to maintain and improve the quality in the years to come.
George Pananos, Owner, Pillar Grove Estate
The Greek company took home a Gold Award for its medium Galani of Chalkidiki oil at the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest. The oil is produced by Me Agapi Ltd in Galano Metaggitsiou Chalkidikis.
Owner George Pananos remarked that the July storm that took its toll on production was the company's major setback of the season. He said he took the NYIOOC win as a challenge to continue to excel in olive oil production.
"I feel honoured and challenged to maintain and improve the quality in the years to come," Pananos said.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest and its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
