James Vasilakos, quality manager
Based in Lakonia, the company earned a Silver Award for its 300 Organic brand, a medium-intensity blend.
"Winning at the NYIOOC is a great honor for us because we see our effort and practices being rewarded," quality manager James Vasilakos said.
In the 2022/23 crop year, the company produced 800 tons of olive oil using machine methods. Vasilakos cited weather conditions, high labor prices and long dry periods as the company's main challenges in producing award-winning extra virgin olive oil.
Held each spring in New York, the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
