KeremZait Wins 2 Gold Awards at World Competition

3 years agoBy OOT Staff

Israeli producer KeremZait has won two Gold Awards at the 2022 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.

Overlooking the Jordan River in the northern Galilee region, the producer earned the awards for a medium Moresca and medium blend.

"Winning at the NYIOOC is a big honor for us," co-owner Nimrod Azulay said. "It is important for us to keep doing the best we can to get more good results in the future."

He attributed the company's success to its combination of modern technology, up-to-date agricultural best practices with a long tradition of olive oil production.

However, Azulay admitted that he faced several challenges throughout the season.

"We using harvesting machine, so hiring the right workers is expensive and harvesting takes a long time," he said. "One of KeremZait' goals is to have the fewest workers harvesting and processing as quickly as possible."
