Insightful Traders Awarded for ‘My Land’ Manaki
Insightful Traders from Greece has won a Silver Award at the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
We are very happy to succeed with all the wonderful brands that competed this year and feel consistent with our customers. We will continue next year to bring in more varieties.
George Anastasopoulos, CEO
Based in Lygourio Asklipiou, on the eastern half of the Peloponnese peninsula, the producer earned its second award at the 2022 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for its My Land brand, a medium Manaki. The company was previously awarded at the competition in 2015.
"We are excited and honored to receive this award from the NYIOOC," said George Anastasopoulos, the company's chief executive.
"We are very happy to succeed with all the wonderful brands that competed this year and feel confident with our customers," he added. "We will continue next year to bring in more varieties."
For Anastasopoulos, this year's award is especially gratifying after a tough harvest in Lygourio Asklipiou, partially blamed on climate change.
"This was a difficult year for Manaki producers in our region for many reasons, including climate change," he said.
"We've seen a drop in production while we were preparing for the U.S. market," Anastasopoulos added. "For us, keeping quality is a priority. We kept our traditional methods and our crop practices, picking at peak ripeness to avoid bitterness, never mixing blends and doing everything with transparency."
