Hellenic Fields Awarded Again for Early Harvest Koroneiki
Greek producer Hellenic Fields has won a Gold and Silver Award at the 2021 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
Winning at the NYIOOC is always one of our goals in every harvest and that pushes us to be better at every step of the cultivation, production and bottling process. An award from NYIOOC is always a great validation to our customers of the superior quality extra virgin olive oil they have once again purchased.

In the 2020/21 crop year, the company produced 50 tons of organic extra virgin olive oil in Olympia from Koroneiki olives using traditional methods. Hellenic Fields earned the Gold Award for its Ena Ena Early Harvest, a medium Koroneiki. The company won the Silver Award for its Ena Ena Organic Olympia PGI, an organic medium Koroneiki.
"We are extremely excited about winning for a second year," co-owner Nikolas Philippidis said. "Winning at the NYIOOC is always one of our goals in every harvest and that pushes us to be better at every step of the cultivation, production and bottling process. An award from NYIOOC is always a great validation to our customers of the superior quality extra virgin olive oil they have once again purchased."
For Hellenic Fields, the hot weather experienced on the Peloponnese peninsula once again proved to be their toughest challenge in 2020.
"Our challenges with the early-harvested fruits were mostly due to hot weather," Philippidis said. "It was a struggle every day to maintain the fruit at preferred temperatures."
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
