We have been winning the NYIOOC Gold Award for many years, confirming that our excellence is always awarded... This is a great achievement for all those who work in our company.
Paolo Pruneti, owner
The company produces organic extra virgin olive oil in Tuscany using traditional methods. Frantoio Pruneti earned the Gold Award for its organic medium Frantoio.
"We have been winning the NYIOOC Gold Award for many years, confirming that our excellence is always awarded," owner Paolo Pruneti said. "Knowing that our commitment is appreciated internationally is an important recognition for all the passion, care and sacrifice we dedicate every day as olive producers. This is a great achievement for all those who work in our company."
For the producers behind Frantoio Pruneti, the award caps off one of the bests harvests that Tuscany has experienced in decades.
"After 365 days of attention and hard work on our 30,000 olive trees, we had great expectations," Pruneti said. "Barring any last-minute surprises, conditions were ideal. The plants were in impeccable condition and the temperatures of the week prior to the harvest had been optimal to extract extra virgin olive oil that celebrates the inimitable tastes of the Chianti Classico."
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
