Finca Molí Coloma Wins Three Awards at 2023 NYIOOC

a year agoBy OOT Staff

Finca Molí Coloma from Spain has won three awards at the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's largest olive oil quality contest.

We are very proud of this award because it recognizes our effort in producing high-quality extra virgin olive oil at our family state.

Cristina Gómez, marketing manager

The Catalan producer earned three Silver Awards for a delicate-intensity Arbosana, a medium Arbequina and an organic medium Leccino. Molí Coloma previously earned two Silver Awards in 2022.

"We are very proud of this award because it recognizes our effort in producing high-quality extra virgin olive oil at our family state," marketing manager Cristina Gómez said.

In the 2022/23 crop year, the company produced 253,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil using traditional methods.

"It has been a very difficult harvest due to the climate conditions, including a prolonged drought," Gómez said.

The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition held each spring in New York, is the world's most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.

The complete list of winners can be viewed in the Official Guide to the World's Best Olive Oils.
