Situated in the fertile Meander Valley of the Bozdogan-Aydin region, the company earns its debut award at the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest for its MonteMadran Special brand, a medium blend of Manzanilla and Gemlik olives.
"I am delighted to be recognized among the world-class olive oil producers, as I am quite new here," owner Ilker Demirel said. "I have a lot to learn."
"Receiving an award from the prestigious NYIOOC is an excellent recognition of our work," he added. "This award proves we can produce olive oil of very high quality. MonteMadran will keep up the quality and aim for a better one every day."
Like many producers in Turkey, Eren Demirel Tarımsal experienced a significant production decline in the 2023/24 crop year.
"We had a more than 60 percent lower harvest than last year," Demirel said. "The quality of the olives was also impacted. Luckily, we harvested early enough and produced our oil."
