Located just outside of Portland, the trailblazing producer has earned a total of 20 awards at the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
This year, the company earned three Gold Awards for a medium Frantoio, medium Koroneiki and medium Mission. Durant Olive Mill also earned a Silver Award for its medium Estate Blend.
"We're humbled to be a part of this community, and look forward to advancing olive oil production in our corner of the Pacific Northwest," owner Paul Durant said.
The company has previously earned four awards at the NYIOOC in 2020 and 2021, and combined for six Gold Awards and three Silver Awards between 2017 and 2019.
For Durant and his team, this year's awards are especially gratifying after a smaller harvest than expected in 2021.
"The yield from the 2021 fruit harvested was our biggest challenge," he said. "We didn't have as much to work with as we'd have liked, but we made the best of a difficult situation."
