D’Uliva Triumphant With Organic Blend at 2024 NYIOOC
D’Uliva from Italy has won a Silver Award at the 2024 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
We are elated. When all the sacrifices and expenses make producing extra virgin olive oil a challenge, this validation makes up for all the hard work that goes into dedicating oneself to becoming organic.
Rita Guastella, owner
The Tuscan producer earned its second-straight World Competition accolade for an organic medium-intensity blend.
"We are elated," said owner Rita Guastella. "When all the sacrifices and expenses make producing extra virgin olive oil a challenge, this validation makes up for all the hard work that goes into dedicating oneself to becoming organic."
Like many producers in Tuscany, Guastella said the 2023/24 crop year was immensely challenging for a range of reasons.
"We had low production, and since we are certified organic, we had to adhere to stricter rules and deal with rising production costs," she confirmed. "The weather also did not help."
