Italian producer Demar has won a Gold Award at the 2024 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.

I'm really happy to win this award. It's very satisfying to be recognized for all the hard work.

Marco Rizzi, CEO

Situated in Puglia, Italy's largest olive oil-producing region, the company earned its tenth World Competition award for its organic medium-intensity Allegretti 100% Picholine Bio brand.

"I'm really happy to win this award," said chief executive Marco Rizzi. "It's very satisfying to be recognized for all the hard work."

In the 2023/24 crop year, Demar produced 22,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil using traditional methods. Rizzi said extreme weather had been the company's most significant challenge throughout the harvest.
