‘Lieutenante’ Wins for Vallée des Baux de Provence PDO

French producer Domaine de la Lieutenante has won a Silver Award at the 2020 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for its Grand Cru Vert, a medium blend.

Winning such a contest is a really important recognition and an enormous achievement for our family-run estate. It is the result of the work of enduring and unique know-how from the Vallée des Baux de Provence PDO.

Domaine de la Lieutenante produces extra virgin olive oil in la Vallée des Baux-de-Provence using traditional harvesting methods.

"We are so proud of our Silver Award at the NYIOOC," owner Laurent Bélorgey said. "Winning such a contest is a really important recognition and an enormous achievement for our family-run estate."

"It is the result of work of enduring and unique know-how from the Vallée des Baux de Provence PDO," he added.

Bélorgey said that every year his team of producers try their best and are always glad to see it pay off.

The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest and its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
