Spanish producer Del Cetino has won two Silver Awards at the 2021 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
As always, it feels great. Five in a row does prove some consistency... The awards are a great stimulus to continue optimizing production and quality. Every detail counts for a small producer.

In the 2020/21 crop year, the company produced 2,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil in Andalusia from Arbequina, Picual olives using traditional methods. Del Cetino earned the two Silver Awards for a delicate Arbequina and medium Picual.
"As always, it feels great. Five in a row does prove some consistency," owner Edydy Plasquy said. "Due to our harvesting system, we can compete in this prestigious competition. The awards are a great stimulus to continue optimizing production and quality. Every detail counts for a small producer."
For the producers behind Del Cetino, this year's awards are especially gratifying after unusually high temperatures detrimentally impacted the quantity and quality of their yield.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
