Corto Olive Triumph at World Competition
The United States' second-largest olive oil producer, Corto Olive, has won two Silver Awards at the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
Quality is everything to us. This prize brings great joy to our team because it recognizes all the hard work and dedication we poured onto our oils.
Juan Polari, technical service manager
The California company earned its latest awards at the 2022 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for a pair of medium Koroneikis from its Truly and Corto brands.
"Quality is everything to us," said Juan Polari, the company's technical services manager. "This prize brings great joy to our team because it recognizes all the hard work and dedication we poured onto our oils."
"It also pushes us to keep improving each year so we can keep delivering the highest quality to our customers," he added.
In the 2021/22 crop year, the company produced four million liters of extra virgin olive oil using modern harvesting methods.
Polari said the most significant challenge in the winning season was "heavy rain during the harvest."
