Catalan Cooperative Triumph With Degustus
Spanish producer Cooperative La Granadella has won a Gold Award at the 2020 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for their Degustus, a delicate Arbequina.
It brings great satisfaction and pride for our Cooperative, which was created in 1920 and has 100 years of tradition. It confirms that we are honoring our commitment to improve the quality of our Degustus oil.

The cooperative produces extra virgin olive oil in Catalonia from Arbequina olives using traditional methods.
Ramon Barrull Becerra, the president of the cooperative, said that each season brings with it unique challenges in order to ensure the highest possible quality is preserved throughout the transformation process.
"It brings great satisfaction and pride for our Cooperative, which was created in 1920 and has 100 years of tradition," Barrull Becerra said. "It confirms that we are honoring our commitment to improving the quality of our Degustus oil."
"Our biggest challenge is to take care of all the transformation processes, from the field to the oil mill, obtaining the highest quality possible with our monovarietal Arbequina oil," he said.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest and its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
