To be recognized as one of the best olive oils in the world made us feel incredibly joyous. It is like receiving a wide smile from our newborn baby on a beautiful spring morning.

The company earned a Gold Award for its Oleavia Savrandere Early Harvest, an organic delicate Memecik, and a Silver Award for its Oleavia Orhaniye Organic, an organic medium-intensity Memecik.
"Our organic extra virgin olive oil is a product of our sustainable agricultural practices; from how we grow olives to how we pick and press them," owner Seher Kaplan said. "To be recognized as one of the best olive oils in the world made us feel incredibly joyous."
"It is like receiving a wide smile from our newborn baby on a beautiful spring morning," she added.
Etkin Enerji produces organic extra virgin olive oil using traditional harvesting methods. The product is marketed and sold in the U.S. under by Coccinella.
Kaplan said that every year is challenging for organic farmers, which is also what makes these types of awards all the more gratifying.
"Our organic production brings many challenges as it requires extensive care and attention to detail, compared to the process behind producing olive oil conventionally," she said. "Our olive trees for our two products are located on a high mountainside, therefore we use mules to bring the olives down and follow meticulous steps for exceptional production and conservation."
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest and its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
