Based in Castilla-La Mancha, the company earned two Gold Awards for a medium Picual and medium Cornicabra, both bottles under the Castillo de Salvatierra brand.
"As a manufacturer, we are very grateful for this recognition and want to continue improving every day," foreign trade associate Rocío Zamora González said. "This award is a step to continue growing and making our products known, which we hope has pleased the widest audience."
In the 2022/23 crop year, Bodegas El Mesto produced 350,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil. Zamora said climate change remained the most significant challenge for the company.
"The challenge our company has had to face in recent times is the decrease in production due to climate change," he said. "Achieving excellent quality is our main objective, as well as being able to grow as a company and overcome the challenges that may arise in the future."
