Bovan Wins Second Straight Gold in New York
Bovan from Croatia has won an award at the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's largest olive oil quality contest.
Winning the second consecutive Gold Award at the world's largest stage is the best possible confirmation of our efforts through all these years.
Daniel Klinac, CEO
The Dalmatian producer earned a second-consecutive Gold Award for its Kora brand, an organic medium blend.
"Winning the second consecutive Gold Award at the world's largest stage is the best possible confirmation of our efforts through all these years," chief executive Daniel Klinac said.
"We are very proud of results and now even more motivated to go the same way in years to come," he added.
According to Klinac, each season brings plenty of challenges for extra virgin olive oil producers in Dalmatia, and the previous harvest was no exception.
"Each year brings some new stories and challenges, especially in organic production," he said. "Last year, we faced drought, and we are very fortunate that we managed to produce high-quality products again."
Held each spring in New York, the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
